About the event
Lets start the new year on the right foot...hiking with like minded Friend's of Bill! It's a 5-mile hike, and we will stop halfway at the West Mountain Shelter for a fire and lunch break . The shelter is up on a ridge and has beautiful views of the NYC skyline.
Come join us for a "5.0-mile loop trail near Bear Mountain, New York. Generally considered a moderately challenging route...
This loop follows a series of trails including the Horn Hill, Timp-Torne, Suffern-Bear Mountain, and Appalachian Trail. The Anthony Wayne Recreation area is easily accessible from Palisades Parkway. Some sections of trail travel over exposed rock which can be slippery. Shoes with good traction are recommended."
